Who we are
Täältä means "from here." For the linguists among you, it is the elative form of the word "tämä," this.
Täältä is a Finnish-American creative company rooted in Minnesota, sharing stories, art, traditions, language and everyday observations inspired by our native Finland and Finnish life.
We started with a simple idea: to send something meaningful through the mail.
Our monthly letters bring a little piece of Finland to your mailbox: a writing to read, artwork to keep and small glimpses into the seasons, customs, mindset, words, foods, places and ways of living that make Finnish culture what it is. Some are familiar and nostalgic. Others might be things you've never encountered before.

Shaped by both sides of the Atlantic
Täältä is shaped by both sides of the Atlantic, by decades spent in Finland and by the Finnish-American experience in Minnesota. We're interested not only in the Finland of postcards and guidebooks, but in the lived details – the dark days of November, coffee at the kitchen table, a familiar recipe, light on the lake, an old word, a new design, something remembered from childhood.
Small things matter. They tell us where we came from, connect one generation to the next and sometimes help us value our own everyday lives a little more.

We love paper, print, good design, beautiful objects and the happiness that comes from receiving something real in the mail.
Täältä begins with letters and small works of art, but the idea is bigger than a subscription. We're building a collection of original art and thoughtfully designed goods with a distinctly täältä point of view. Finnish in spirit, shaped here and now, made for everyday life.
We hope to create things worth giving, displaying, mailing and keeping.
